Aileen Wuornos was an American serial killer who murdered seven men in Florida between 1989 and 1990 by shooting them at point-blank range. Wuornos claimed that her victims had either raped or attempted to rape her while she was working as a sex worker, and that all the homicides were committed in self-defence. She was convicted and sentenced to death for six of the murders and was executed by lethal injection on October 9, 2002.
With Aileen Wuornos, the question must be asked? And that is, are all serial killers born or made! As Aileen had an extremely traumatic childhood, her father killed himself in prison, her mother left her and her brother, and their grandparents took care of them. However her grandma was an alcoholic and her grandfather was violent had would sexually abuse her. When she was a young women she was homeless and lived in the woods and the only income she had was prostitution. Aileen was married for a short time before it finally broke down. Drifting around for years Aileen finally made her way to Florida began a relationship with Tyria Moore it was during this relationship her killing spree started.
So, the question that must be asked is would Aileen had of committed these murders had she not had the life she had? As always I would love to know your thoughts?
