Known for being one of the busiest districts in Greater London, this gorgeous Piazza in Westminster was once known for its teeming vegetable and fruit markets right in the central square. Now, it's more known as a shopping district and tourist centre. Although the plan to preserve the central piazza was in place, by the 60s, traffic congestion in the wholesale market became unworkable and a huge development was put into place. The next year, the market was moved, and the central building re-opened as a shopping area by the 1980s. It was during this time that families would visit The Covent Garden Piazza on weekends for entertainment. It was often filled with theatre actors, dancers and good food.
A Mr & Mrs Web were amongst those families, in the year 1989 the Web family went to visit The Covent Garden Piazza with their two small children. They stopped near the front of the Piazza as their young daughter stopped and posed for photo. It wasn’t until the photo was developed that they saw something that didn’t belong in the photo!
The women with the stroller is Mrs Web but the women in a black coat, with her hands in her pockets shouldn’t have been there! As the was not there when the photo was taken. If you look closely at the women in the black coat she appears to have no legs and does in fact appear to be floating! To this day no one has explained The Covent Garden Piazza Ghost and it is still regarded as one of the most convincing photos of a real ghost!
What do you make of it?
